These terms apply to your use of the Bhoomija website and to anything you buy from us. By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to them.
About us
Bhoomija sells handcrafted textiles, pottery and home objects made by artisans in India. The store is operated from Kolkata, West Bengal.
Handmade pieces
All our products are handcrafted and might come with natural imperfections. No two pieces are identical, and small variations in colour, weave, glaze and finish are part of the craft rather than defects. Photographs are as accurate as we can make them, but screens differ and natural materials change with light.
Orders
An order is an offer to buy. We confirm it by email once payment is accepted, and we may decline an order if a piece is no longer available, if the price or description was shown in error, or if we cannot verify the payment or delivery details. If we decline an order that has already been paid for, we return the payment in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown before you confirm the order. We accept UPI, wallets and net banking. Payment is taken at the time of the order through our payment providers.
Delivery
Because pieces come directly from artisan workshops, dispatch takes longer than a mass-produced item. Timelines and charges are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Damages and returns
- In the unlikely event of any damage to the product, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs.
- Only defective products can be returned, and the loop seal must be intact.
- A full refund is issued in the form of store credit, valid for six months.
Because every piece is made by hand, the natural variations described above are not treated as defects.
Care
For all fabric products, dry cleaning is recommended.
The waitlist and our messages
Joining the waitlist means we may contact you by email or phone about our launch and our collections. You can leave at any time, and how we handle your details is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Our content
The photographs, text, artwork and logo on this site belong to Bhoomija or to the artisans and photographers we work with. Please do not reproduce them commercially without our written permission.
Using the site
Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain access to parts of it that are not public, or use it for anything unlawful. We may withdraw access if you do.
Our responsibility
We take care to keep the site and its information accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes
We may update these terms as the business grows. The version on this page is the one that applies.
